We have been rather concerned with the noise from the engine which seems to emanate from the magneto, i.e. E.O.6 type on the 40/50 cars. We are not sure what part of the magneto is the cause of the noise which is similar to the complaint which is reported on in the last 40/50 HP. 10,000 miles production test car, 12-EM. We have suffered from this to a certain extent with these magnetos since they were changed from the E.6 type and recently they seem to be getting worse. We should be glad if you could obtain from the makers a model of what they consider their standard so that we can then settle whether this model is satisfactory to us, and if so return to them such magnetos as are noiser than this model. Could SFT.{Mr Swift} take similar action with Mr. Ellis' tests, & EFC. include something to this effect in his specification. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} | ||
