BATTERIES.

With reference to Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/MS.7/P.27.12.34., and letter attached to that memo from Messrs.Peto & Radford the capacity of our existing standard 20/25 chassis battery on the 10 hr. rate as compared with the Bentley is practically identical.

We are aware that the construction of the Bentley battery is not so robust electro-chemically but it was estimated that the beneficial effect of the voltage controller would more than compensate for this deficiency.

We do feel however that we ought to consider a larger capacity battery both for the Bentley and 20/25 chassis now that we have a voltage controlled system. The advent of car radio particularly drains the battery when the radio is operated with the car stationary as is popularly the case, and there is no reserve for cold starting.

Our suggestion is therefore that we consider a larger capacity battery for the Wraith chassis.
