1064 To RHO. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}8/JH.1.10.36. 1028 Aluminium Brake Drums. Bentley and Wraith. The latest brake drums we have been making have developed a tendency to crackle while they are cooling off. The early drums were immune from this trouble We have isolated to source of the noise, and think it is due to sideways movement between liner and drum. The early drums had their liners ground to size and therefore had a fine finish. The later ones are turned and are relatively rough. We think this roughness is aggravating the trouble, so will you please have all future liners ground on the outside. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/A.F.Martindale. | ||
