Dear Ru.

I have just had the sample of Ethyl petrol tested and it comes out at 46 Octane, C.F.R. Motor Method. which, frankly, is what I expected.
I saw the test myself. I'd be much obliged if you would keep this within the works but can assure you that this is well up to standard so far as all Ethyl motor spirit in this country is concerned.

I think it very important, when checking up various petrols, particularly benzole mixtures, in cars, to ascertain relative anti-knock values, & adjust mixture strength accordingly so that you do not get false values.

Sorry this isn't typed but I haven't anyone available at the moment and will be away all next week.

Yours Ever
Rod Banks.
