FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} LID{A. J. Lidsey} See me HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M14.1.32. C. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} C. to DV. EA. x5520. J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} 3. SHOCK DAMPERS. Attached is a print of N. sch. 3405. - Shock Damper with distant control. The shock damper is exactly the same front and rear except for the levers. Internally it is as already sent to Derby on N. scheme 3226., but includes the new method of fixing the levers. The distant control unit is as already sanctioned by A.{Mr Adams} before leaving for France, but a suggestion for a method of centralised replenishment is added. The stiff spring which experiment has shown to be necessary for the correct operation of the double acting main valve prevents the valve piston being used to provide the replenishment valve.
