H.R. 224A (150 H) (V V.{VIENNA} 681 12-3-14) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 0414. Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/McrS/B7414. -2- than using over-size tyres on a small rim. As a result of these letters Mr Royce wrote on 5.3.14 that we ought not to look upon these as a possible new standard. We have at present a letter from a Mrs Hare who owns one Rolls-Royce and has another on order, and she wishes to know whetherwe can recommend these tyres for her new chassis, because she is getting a very poor mileage with her existing car and tyres. If it transpires that this lady intends to fit a heavy body what should our policy be if we are not to advise an over-size tyre ? The solution offered by the tyre people is a larger wheel, but Mr Royce has many times emphatically expressed his disapproval of larger wheels. The third alternative is twin wheels. We regret troubling you at so greater a length, but we wished to explain the matter fully so that the question might be settled once and for all, enabling us to get out a circular letter for despatch to customers. p.
