X.457 13-3-14. We attach herewith a copy of a suggestion submitted by Peat who is at Madrid. We shall be glad if you will let us have your opinion on same and whether it is worth while endeavouring to obtain Mr Royce's sanction for an experiment as Peat suggests. p. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} [Signature] Mcr 13/3/14 [Handwritten text] This suggestion is ingenious, but I do not think we should do anything with it now. Probably Mr Peat has not yet tried stiffening the buffer springs in the side steering tube? I think we know by now that wobbles can be cured a) by leaving the joints correctly, b) by fitting suitably strong springs to the side steering tube. Some cars require one, some both of these things doing. [Signature] IHS 13/3/14 [Stamp] ENCLOSURE No. 50 This sheet must be filed with the correspondence to which it refers. | ||
