Dear Platt,

I understand from Aspin that, prior to the war, he produced a complete engine for you with his valve gear.

Whilst I have never been in any way able to understand the justification for his claims from the basic design, I feel that his work cannot be dismissed without investigation and if, therefore, you feel at liberty to give me any information on the results of your experiments, I should be extremely grateful.

Yours sincerely,

Maurice Platt, Esq.,
Power Plant Engineer,
Messrs. Vauxhall Motors Limited,
LUTON. Beds.
