Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} 1112. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Les8/R.30.4.37. SHOCK DAMPER KNOCKS. Re: Quarterly Complaints Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}8/AR.23.4.37. I see there are 6 complaints on P.III. Last quarter there were none, and I understand from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} that there are none for this quarter from N. Could you, therefore, let us have the following information of these six complaints:- (1) Chassis number (2) Depot reporting knock (3) Alterations found necessary to overcome complaint. If it is convenient to get similar information of the 2 30 HP. complaints this would also be helpful. At the moment it appears that certain depots do a lot of shock damper repair work, and others do nothing. Although there have been obvious causes of justifiable complaints, there are a number of cases where dampers are removed and refitted without alteration or further complaint. As far as I know the dampers now being turned out from the Works with good bushes are entirely satisfactory. I should like to know if you agree. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Les.{Ivan A.
