We have now received the specification of the 100 octane fuel which has been blended for us by the Anglo American Oil Co., using 200 gallons of the 250 gallons of Iso Octane which they have set aside for us. X. The physical properties are given below and compare with D.T.D.230. It will be noticed that generally speaking the fuel will conform to the Air Ministry Specification for D.T.D.230 but gives a knock rating by the Air Ministry method of 98 and also that the distillation range is much narrower than that permitted under the D.T.D.230 specification. We may, therefore, expect ease of starting to be comparable with D.T.D.230 and because its end point is some 40 degrees lower than the Air Ministry's specification, it is very probable that distribution will be better. Total quantity = 506 gallons. Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} X list attached. | ||
