Contd. -2- R1/G15.1.21. the bosses being then of larger diameter with a light rod coming away. This is a practice one often uses in such things as callipers, where it is desired that a joint should wear well, and the rest of the apparatus be as light as possible. Our chief reason, however, for adopting the larger size of bolt is that a satisfactory job would be made of the split-pin work, of split pinning the 1/2" cas-tellated nuts, because the split pins are too small, if a reasonable clearance is given in the castellations, etc. The gearbox is hanging back owing to the difficulty of getting a simple and neat arrangement for the change speed and brake levers, but we shall send you the box proper by Wednesday, leaving the controls for a few days later.
