BENTLEY III UNITS.

Will you please build 4 Bentley III units in accordance with the Wraith specification Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/BA.5.10.37 but modified as follows, and accordingly deleting the parts on the Wraith specification that are not necessary.

(1) Induction system (design not yet complete) to suit 2 S.U. carburettors as used on present production 4 1/4 litre Bentley.

(2) Air silencer (design not yet complete)

(3) New controls (design not yet complete) It should be arranged that for these 4 engine the controls go on the existing Wraith III crankcase. It may, therefore, be necessary to use brackets to adapt the new controls on the Wraith III crankcase. This should be noted and detail drawings instructed accordingly.

(4) Breather pipe ECD.116.

(5) New front cylinder head cover to suit thermostat scheme (design not yet complete).

(6) Std production Bentley Aerolite pistons modified in ring grooves to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}408.
Compression rings EM.1425 to be supplied by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Mths.{Reg Matthews}

(7) .010 thick cylinder head gaskets in Klingerit , 1000 which we will supply.
