XC4117 BJ1/H3.3.25. To-By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from B.J. Copies to. mor. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BP. Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} N. GWB. SPRING COUPLING - 68-AU. Confirming my conversation on the telephone this morning, on receipt of By12/H2.3.25, we discussed this with C.J. and it is realised that we could not make use of this customer's brand new car for experimental and testing purposes of the fabric coupling, especially if it necessitated fourteen days further delay. We therefore decided that we should fit spring coupling and deliver immediately; so soon as 10,000 miles test has been completed, and if the fabric coupling is found satisfactory, this can immediately be fitted to 68-AU. Will you kindly arrange accordingly? 62-AU - Moy. This car has been returned to Barkers owing to the springing(and other body complaints) being unsatisfactory. The car will be sent to Cricklewood and the springing will be dealt with by them in accordance with GWB2/LH{Mr Haworth}3.3.25, addressed to S/W - By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} In view of the excessive noise of in this body, it is considered that spring coupling should immediately be fitted to this car also. Will you kindly arrange for the necessary parts to be sent to Cricklewood immediately, for this purpose? B.J. | ||
