(3) STEERING.

The new front axle is a further and very positive improvement on the Phantom steering. We believe it will get us out of our trouble with pivot pins seizing which has caused many complaints on steering. A scheme for preventing the controls rattling in the steering column is being tested on 12-EX car in France.

(4) RADIATOR - WATER BOILING INDICATOR.

This is being tested on two or three cars including 12-EX. Messrs. Lucas are submitting to us a small red signal lamp suitable for the dashboard fitted with a bulb to give low current consumption.

(5) BURNING OF PLATINUM POINTS.

There have been modifications made recently to prevent oil vapour getting into the battery ignition head. We believe this will effectively overcome the rapid burning of platinum points. As regards the battery charge indicator. We do not know of any instrument which the average owner would be able to intelligibly understand.

(6) PHANTOM CLUTCH.

There have been several modifications made to the clutch, since the original cars. We cannot guarantee that the clutch will not jagger or that the rate at which it stops when hot is satisfactory to all customers.

(7) TAPPET NOISE.

A considerable amount of time is spent on production cars to endeavour to obtain quiet tappets. The most difficult
