Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} X1245? BY/Cgh.{W Clough} 9/G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 26.8.35. BENTLEY CHASSIS - HIGH COMPRESSION CYLINDER HEAD. We are informed by our Paris Depot that they do not wish us to fit any more high compression cylinder heads on chassis to be supplied to them, as they find that after fitting one of these recently the improvement in the performance of the engine is entirely out-weighed by the roughness of the running. Will you please have this matter looked into. In the meantime we are not producing any cylinder heads of this type. [Handwritten note] lt. Instructions sent to D/BP by TR{Capt. F. W.
