X133/ Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}10/KW. 17th January, 1936. The Avon India Rubber Co.Ltd., 41 & 42, Livery Street, Birmingham 3. Dear Sirs, Replying to your letter of the 10th January, the report we had from London was that the Avon tyres were unstable in all directions with regard to skidding. We do not think any useful purpose would be served by pursuing the matter further for the time being, as we have come to the conclusion that we cannot get a perfectly silent tread which will give good adhesion, and have therefore been forced to tackle the problem from another angle. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
