instructions they received when the car came in for attention, did not mention anything as regards engine vibration. They had tried the car before they did any work on it and did not notice there was anything wrong with the car as regards vibrations considering it was a high compression open touring car. The work which was carried out on it at Cricklewood were jobs such as - decarbonising the engine, greasing the springs, curing any rattles etc - it was the usual attention one would expect to be necessary to a demonstration car after a season on the Riveria. if any improvement at all had been made to 107-MG as regards vibration, Cricklewood was not aware of it. One would imagine, of course, the fact of it being decarbonised and all rattles cured, would give one a much better impression of the car for general running. As regards 107-MG vibrations, there was nothing to learn from Cricklewood because they had not knowingly done anything to the car which would improve it in that respect.
There was another car at Cricklewood - 20-UG. This car was an open trials which had been condemned by BJ. for engine vibration and engine noise and it has been sent to Cricklewood. In that case they had affected considerable improvement as regards noise, by giving attention to the engine gears. As regards the vibration they had slacked off the slipper wheel and were of the opinion that they had made an improvement. I tried this car on the road and I should say it was an average car as regards vibration. I could not say whether it was improved because I had
