Front spring modifications related to steering and front wheel brakes, specifically for a Goshawk model.

X4261 X5940 In conjunction with steering and front wheel brakes we seem obliged to do one of two things, either shackle the springs in the front making the control the wrong way round, or fitting radius rods. I should be glad if on a Goshawk you will shackle the front as we have instructed, and about which we are awaiting some results, and test if there is any difference in the life of the front springs when thus shackled at the front, and when they are at the back. If there is no difference I cannot see that there is any disadvantage in arranging them in this manner, and it will be a great benefit to do so. We should in any case probably lengthen them when fitting front wheel brakes, and keep them very flat. I am asking if HY.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} can be spared to help you through this busy time; if so, he might take this somewhat new feature in hand, leaving you more time with the engine work.
