X.3601 RE "GOSHAWK" STARTING HANDLE.

We have now received Mr Royce's final remarks and regarding the proposed starting handle which we send herewith two further prints ("R" Scheme 653) which covers the few slight alterations he has asked for. The whole part of the butted end is made a little larger, to facilitate butting. The oil screw at the front end has been made countersunk instead of hexagon headed. The nut holding the handle spindle into the levers is made thinner.

In addition to the above we have also slightly increased the strength of the lever to avoid the bending that has happened in practice. This modified scheme should be put through for the present Goshawk.
