With reference to the second case of E.A.C. parts which has been received but was in no way sealed.

We have made enquiries and find that this case, before it left here, was bonded with 1" hoop-iron and sealed. Before the case could be opened this iron band would have to be sheared.

The first case we sent was not sealed in this manner - it is only recently that the Stores have been using a special machine for fixing and sealing iron bands.
