EAC.10. VALVE GEAR. X7060 X5060

We send you herewith drawing LeC. 2514., shewing the remainder of the information for the above.

We notice on the 20HP. valve gear, which is of the same type, that a small screw has been introduced on the end bracket, passing through the bracket and tapped into the rocker bar. As we thought this was for the purpose of locating the rocker bar in the correct position so that the clearance holes were all concentric with the remaining studs, we introduced a fitting stud on LeC. 2514. for the same purpose.

On second thoughts we cannot see however why the ordinary studs should not be a sufficient location for the rocker bar if a portion of the full diameter projects into the stud hole.

Perhaps you could kindly give us some information on this point as we may have mistaken the purpose of the small screw above referred to.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
