When testing this car yesterday my attention was drawn to a high line which is showing across the rear ends of the two top bonnet curved plates about 5" from the back, and which has obviously been caused by impact with the supporting ledge formed by the fabric which is stitched in and out of the scuttle. I am informed that this fault showed itself immediately on delivery of the car to them. I cannot find that it has become any worse, nor can I find any other similar cases where these lengthened bonnets show markings of a similar nature. We should feel very much concerned if this trouble were to arise with bonnets. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} pointed out to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} on Friday last with reference to our demonstration car 48-MS, the way the rear contact discs on the top of the bonnet had tended to become pushed down, or recessed, resulting from the impact of one-half of the bonnet when opened. It was suggested that a protective plate might be fixed underneath the bonnet top half to give it additional strength where the contact disc is located. LID{A. J.
