Paris Depot are complaining that the insulation of certain Lucas Dynamos they have handled on cars is poor. They point out that in tests they have made they have found a loss of 40% to 50% of the output. We have not agreed to this and have contended that their tests are wrong and have asked them to report definitely what the voltmeter insulation resistance actually is as tested if possible with an ohmmeter. We shall be glad if you can in the meantime, however, enquire from Messrs. Lucas what assurance they can give us with regard to the satisfactory insulation of their dynamos and what is the minimum and maximum ohmmeter resistance to earth they guarantee when the machine is hot and when it is cold.
