With reference to the recent designs of slipper flywheels, we propose to modify the 20HP. to make it similar in design to the Phantom, replacing the corrugated driving plate with serrations.

Would you kindly instruct that the fibre used for the friction surfaces should not be more than .062 thick. This fibre can be if necessary pegged by means of wooden pegs driven through it into holes drilled in the backing plates.

Would you also please instruct for experimental test friction discs in woven cotton, and in cork.
