For the attention of Mr.N.R.Chandler.

Dear Sirs,

Re: 10" and 11" Clutches.

We have to acknowledge receipt of your esteemed letter of the 2nd. instant with regard to the possibility of changing over to Thermoid friction facings on 10" and 11" clutches.

We agree with the quantities outstanding against existing orders, namely

14 - 10"
54 - 11"

and instructions have been issued to our Works immediately to hold fabrication pending your definite instructions as to type of facings required.

Recently, you will recall that you requested quotations for clutches of the 10" and 11" sizes fitted with Thermoid facings and we obtained facing prices from our friends in U.S.A. However, no orders have been passed up to the time of writing. It is understood that the quantities involved were 500-10" and 300-11".

With regard to the possibility of your requiring 150 driven plates of each size modified by fitment of Thermoid facings, position has been carefully investigated and as stated per telephone this afternoon, on the 10" driven plate which is now fitted with F.F.1. woven facings, it is practically certain that all facings removed will be scrapped.
