PHANTOM SIDE WHEEL CARRIER FOR USE WHEN REAR SPARE WHEEL CARRIER IS FITTED TO THE CAR.
---------------------------------------------------------------

Replying to BY21/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 9.6.27. it is intended that the side spare wheel carrier shewn on N.Sch.2420 should be used on both sides of the Phantom when six wheels are specified.

We agree that it will be necessary to run 10,000 miles but have suggested that there would be a cobsiderable amount of information to be learned by bumping this carrier against the original one - that is to say - one on either side of the chassis.

With reference to the last para. we have already discussed the detachable carrier with R.{Sir Henry Royce}, and prepared a preliminary design, but R.{Sir Henry Royce} is opposed to the idea, and has instructed us to draw N.Scheme 2420.
