SECRET. <strikethrough>To Mr. Harvey</strikethrough> from Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} <strikethrough>c to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}</strikethrough> <strikethrough>c to SY.</strikethrough> X8770 Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}3/T.27-9-27. Sports Model. In answer to your note BJ3/E.24-9-27, I saw Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} to consider delays before he left to see R.. It is rather early to come to any definite opinion. SY. has got a considerable number of instructions from WW., but there are a few more still to come. He states that it will take him about a month to get this job through, but we hope we shall be able to get our Pattern Shop and other jobs going earlier than that. It is rather a big job but we are all enthusiastic, and it might be getting on for Christmas before we can get some Chassis. We shall, however, go into details on this job, and fully realise the importance of it, and it shall be done in the quickest possible time. I think it might be advisable, and suggest for your consideration, that we put about a dozen in hand and risk modifications, because it seems likely that there will not be much wrong, because R.{Sir Henry Royce} is concentrating on details that he knows to be wrong with our present model. I suggest a dozen because time is of great importance, and it is wiser to risk modifications because delay in delivery would be more expensive. [Signature] | ||
