A.F.H. 1245 To Bentley Motors Ltd. Derby............... By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Copy to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Lm. Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} Levallois Sr/VAZ/ET.27.10.38. Re: CHASSIS N° B.6.MR - Sr.'s Paris Trials Car ------------------------------------------- Sr. has asked me to write to you to say that, in future, all new Bentley chassis dispatched from the Works to France should have the front and rear hydraulic dampers set as follows (initial load at minimum position): Front: 100 lbs. Rear: 80 lbs. It was arranged in the past, prior to the "MR" series, that all Bentley chassis dispatched to France should have 120 lbs. initial load at the front and 100 lbs. at the rear. Sr. says this setting is now too high for chassis of the "MR" series. By reducing the initial loading of the dampers on B.6.MR to 100 lbs. at the front and 80 lbs. at the rear, we have considerably improved the riding qualities of the car, and this setting can now be considered standard for France.
