Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd.,
Derby.

Gentlemen,

Your ref. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.9/MA.

We thank you for your letter of January 29th and, as you request, we are immediately modifying some 765-A plugs so as to lower their heat resistance and we hope to despatch a dozen of these either to-night or, at latest, to-morrow.

However, we think we can render the 14 m.m. plug more suitable for Phantom conditions by a further modification in design which must take a certain amount of time. We are putting a dozen plugs with this further modification in hand and hope to be able to despatch them to you in the early part of next week.

For your information we enclose copy of letter we have received from the Air Ministry giving provisional airworthiness approval for types M.S.V. and M.S.R. screens.

Yours faithfully,
p.p. K.L.G. SPARKING PLUGS LIMITED.

C. J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Carington
Director.
