London Trials. Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}7/KW.11.6.36. The specified setting of the cross steering tube on the 20/25 at present is 6 lbs. When GUL-82 left the Works after the cross steering tube had been dismantled, the friction setting was checked to be within the production limits. As far as our trial of the car is concerned, there is no doubt that when it was delivered here the steering was most unpleasant due to some friction in the front axle side of the side steering tube. After liberal use of the Bijur pump and allowing the car to stand all night, this trouble had almost completely disappeared the next morning, so that the evidence was destroyed. We suggest a more generous use of the Bijur pump if this particular trouble reappears. We have fitted the Marles type steering to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s car, with a view to seeing how it compares with GUL-82. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
