We have investigated the cost of replacing the special rubber hose bottom water connection, shown in scheme SCD.514.

In the absence of a Scheme Drawing showing the exact details required to replace the special rubber hose connection, we have considered the cost of a curved 18 SWG. Copper Tube 1.125" o/d.ia. with a tee piece connection brazed on, the necessary short rubber hose connections and jubilee clips.

A similar type of Connection is shown on SCD.210, but in place of the Radiator Outlet Connection, which is a casting, we have estimated for a 18 SWG. Copper Tube, bent to allow connecting to the curved copper pipe.

This alternative method of connection, as compared with the special rubber hose, shows an increase in factory cost of approximately 6d., with an additional cost estimated at £18. for a Pipe Bending die.
