to the ones which have been fitted for a considerable time to the 40/50 car. In this case we are experimenting with doing away with the exhaust heating induction and going back to the water heating induction. We think however it is possible that if we revert to this, although we shall overcome the difficulty of the valve, we shall introduce other troubles.

(9) These troubles now appear to be entirely overcome.

(10) The controls fitted to the latest EAC. cars are equal to those we have ever fitted to the 40/50 HP. There is no further modification contemplated.

(11) The throttle governor which is now being sent out on the production cars is identical to those which were fitted to the cars which were tried and approved by the Administration. There have been no requests from them for anything different. We, however, have modifications which will reduce the friction. These we understand will be incorporated at a date approved of by the Administration.

(12) We have run fabric couplings for over 12,000 miles and there have been no signs of fraying. The couplings, when they come from the makers, are moulded with rubber on the outside - this should not be removed.

(13) We cannot find a reason why the EAC. cars should be any worse than the 20 HP. or the 40/50 in this respect. In this case, on the Experimental cars in France we found that the battery ignition points have given no trouble since we made certain that the condenser connections were free from oil and dirt.

(14) Bowden wire for controls is not novel or original. We use wire for essential operation - like brakes. On Experimental cars we have had no difficulty with this wire. No modifications are contemplated.

(15) We do not think it is necessary for the drain pipe from the carburetter to lead petrol on to the exhaust pipe. We think this could be avoided even without clipping the pipe.

(16) This matter is receiving attention in the Expl: Dept: In the meantime we shall be very surprised if there is any complaint on 'V' series cars fitted with 'L' section un-lapped rings and the contd :-
