May 31st 1939. (For the attention of Mr. W. A.Robotham) Dear Sirs, Since we wrote you on the 27th instant, we have received your letter of the 26th instant, referring to Mr. Hardy's telephone conversation with Dr. Mackay. We are forwarding to you to-day 10. covers of the 5-stud pattern, serial Nos. being JJ.3503. JJ.3570. JJ.3535. JJ.3538. JJ.3537. JJ.3545. JJ.3542. JJ.3541. JJ.3544. JJ.3539. The casing construction of these 10 covers differs from our Standard in that the sidewall of the casing is not quite as stiff as the covers of the 4-stud pattern, which we are forwarding to you later as promised in our letter of the 27th instant, addressed to Mr. Hardy; but nevertheless the carcass is of ample strength. The Covers which we are at present preparing for test at Brooklands will, however, be of Standard construction. Yours faithfully, THE AVON INDIA RUBBER CO. LTD., [Signature: J.Manding] DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT. | ||
