Mr. FORD OWNER, Ask yourself these questions— As my car has no oil gauge, how do I know if it is properly lubricated ? Am I certain that the oil pressure of my car is 2 to 3-lbs. per square inch when the engine is ticking over and reaches 30-lbs. per square inch at driving speed ? If I experience a total failure of lubrication either through shortage of oil or mechanical fault, what would be the first intimation that something was wrong ? How much would it cost me if this 'first intimation' was a badly damaged engine ? Is my engine going to be like my friend Brown's which has done 60,000 miles without re-boring or will it require a re-bore after about 8,000 miles ? If the latter, is it because the oil pressure is high enough to prevent bearing destruction but not adequate for proper lubrication of other parts of the engine ? If I have an oil gauge fitted, can I be sure that, when driving in fog or rain, or when I have to concentrate on my driving, I shall consult the gauge every half mile or so ? Do I enjoy groping under the bonnet in my dark garage to look at my dip-stick or should I be happier if I could dispense with this article ? Do I, driving on a long journey wonder if the garage man did check my oil level and do I sometimes worry about this so much that I have to suffer the inconvenience of stopping to see for myself ? What would happen if I left my ignition switch on all night and how much would it cost to hire a battery from the service station and have mine recharged ? Don't bother with the answers—Cut out the worry with an R.L. CUTOUT. DO YOU KNOW THAT— Thousands of cars are being used inadequately lubricated ? Premature wear is being experienced unnecessarily by many car owners ? Much expense and inconvenience is caused by drivers inadvertently leaving their ignition switch on overnight ? An R.L. CUTOUT will ENSURE CORRECT LUBRICATION and PROTECTION AGAINST BATTERY DISCHARGE ? THE R.L. CUTOUT Is fully Patented in Great Britain (No. 416036). There is also the AUTO-CUTOUT—a more elaborate device, having additional features to the above and designed chiefly for use on cars having a higher oil pressure than the FORD.
