To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} From DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} X7250 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M23.2.27. EAC.7. RADIATOR, BONNET & DASH. X.7250 X.7260 X.7830 With further reference to R5/M10.2.27., there will be a difficulty in fitting the raised radiator and bonnet to this car as the body is already finished, and to raise the scuttle would mean a considerable further delay. An alternative would be to lift the whole of the body .5", but as we have been striving on EAC.7. to get the body down about 1", we think it would be a pity to lift it again .5". We suggest, if you agree, that the way to deal with EAC.7. is to leave the bonnet and radiator height as at present, and reduce the length of the tubes .5" so as to subject this to a test. We should then be sure that when we came to use the .5" higher radiator we could only have done good. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
