XH057 Mr. G.W. Hancock, c/o Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre, FRANCE. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/KT.23.2.33. PEREGRINE. When you test out the gallery pipe in your bottom half, we should like you to get a figure with the minimum quantity of oil in the sump as well as with the normal quantity. The reason we ask you to do this is because we are hoping that turbulence from the oil jets is going to improve the cooling, and if we have a lot of oil in the sump, we shall smother the turbulence of these jets. If we have the minimum quantity on the other hand, the oil flow should be able to scour the bottom half thoroughly. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
