-2- (p.19) contd. Wheelbase. Delete "short model 144"." Track. Still in doubt. Front track will be unaltered but rear may be 60". Suggest delete. Turning circles. Revise for center of outside front tire and for radius which is Am. standard measurement. R.H. will be 25 1/2 feet. L.H. will be 28 feet. Fuel tank capacity 21 Imperial gallons. 25 U.S. gallons. We have found it desirable to add capacities (in U.S. measure) of - Gearbox U.S.quarts. Rear Axle " Crankcase " Water system U.S. gallons. Chap.1 (p.20) Starting Engine and driving car. We should put most of this chapter at the end of book under "Driving Notes", and delete some of it. See Am.book "Instructions for Starting and Running" Chap.II, which in general is considered satisfactory for inclusion at front of book eliminating descriptive matter and giving - (a) Operations for starting engine and setting car in motion. (b) Positions of controls (diagram). (c) Note re economy and high altitude. (d) Diagram of gearshift positions. See also Chap.XIV "Driving Notes" at end of Am.book. Pilot Jet instructions need revision for operation of extra oil. (p.20) Would eliminate first two descriptive paragraphs. "Close radiator shutter by means of control lever on instrument board" - delete. (p.21) --- "starting carburetter control to position marked off". Substitute "--- to position marked extra oil. After several minutes move lever to vertical downward position marked off.
