(5) It was agreed that the original design of 8 cylinder in-line Wraith engine should be left dormant for the time being. It is still considered desirable to obtain some side valve engine data from the Packard on the test bed. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} reported Graham 5 port head no improvement. The forged connecting rod development has come to a stop with nickel steel, and it was agreed to re-start this with an alternative material using a suitable carbon steel. Bentley. The alterations to bring Girling brake scheme up to production standard as set out in E.5/HP.13.11.36 are not considered extensive and should be got ready as soon as possible to incorporate in experimental car for the 15,000 miles test.
