Dear Sir,

Thank you for your letter No. Ve/NP.5 dated 10th July, 1941, regarding the 2-pdr Mark XIV gun powered mounting. It appears that weight of mounting and fire power would meet operational requirements and I have written to Commander Young suggesting that the mounting be fitted in an M.G.B. under my command for trial under action conditions.

Lieutenant R.P. Hichens R.N.V.R. will be taking a Merlin engine course at your works on Monday 29th July, 1941 and has been instructed to contact you on this subject.

Yours faithfully,

PETER HOWES.

LIEUTENANT - ROYAL NAVY.
SENIOR OFFICER, 6th M.G.B. FLOTILLA.
