of the low speed valve from rotating.
No other alteration is necessary.

We have sent through to the
Shops an experimental set in accordance
with scheme A.{Mr Adams}

The tests with the rough device
fitted up in the Experimental Dept.
have been very satisfactory so far,
except that the felt pad became soaked
with petrol and caught fire on the
occasion of a "pop back". For this
reason you will notice that the schemes
have been shown without a felt pad
and the valve made a face fit.

Mr Platford reports that there
is a certain lag in the pick-up which
is due to shortage of petrol. This
shortage does not occur with our
present scheme as there is a certain
amount of loose petrol in the carburetter
just previous to picking up.
