"HERON" & "STORK" X4547
FRONT AXLE RADIUS RODS.

We send herewith N.sch. 1326 shewing the front end of the radius rods and the ball end in the axle. This also shews the shock absorber rod and ball end, and the steering tube joints.

It is not intended that the latter should have any spring buffers in the side steering tube, but should be solid at both ends.

It will be seen that the centre of the radius rod ball end from the spring has been slightly reduced but if you have the axle already made it can be used without difficulty we think, though it may be necessary to modify the clamping nuts on the radius rod end. We also expect that it is too late to get the shock absorbers boss on the first axle.

As our clearances are restricted we have had to modify the spring clip and make it suitable for only a small range of springs, that is to say, you will not be able to use one stamping for a great number of springs. It will be noticed that we have dispensed with the sheet metal sheath and returned to the standard spring with the bolt with the nut on top.

We are reckoning on the ball end being knocked out when it is desired to remove the radius rod.

We believe that we have some little while ago instructed that the spring centres should be 27.25.
