BATTERIES - LAST 50 CHASSIS IN 'T' SERIES. ------------------------------------------ The introduction of the pressed steel cross member for supporting the front end of the rear springs, which becomes necessary with the larger propeller shaft which would be included if we introduced, as we hope to do, the new easy change box, gets us into trouble with the battery inasmuch as the whole scheme has been laid out to use the battery intended for Japan lll, which is longer, narrower and not quite so deep. The wooden battery box will therefore not fill up the space between the two cross members, and this being the case we know that the method of supporting the wooden box under these conditions will not be satisfactory. In view of the foregoing, therefore, we would strongly recommend that we should bring in the new battery and battery box for the last 50 in 'T' series, if it is decided to use the easy change gearbox and the larger propeller.
