We are carrying out experiments on this. (3) Steering. The average Ph.III steering has shown itself to be not good enough. We have carried out a large number of experiments at Derby and have made some improvement, but have not yet been able to get such good results as were originally obtained on the American steering. We are still trying to find out why this is La{L. A. Archer} Salle - Geometry (4) Brakes. We have had complaints of the brakes. We are satisfied, however, that if the braking system is functioning satisfactorily, it is just as good as the existing Phantom. Drum Sponge (5) Fan. After softening down the engine mounting and getting a much quieter motor car the fan noise became evident. We find that the Cadillac type fan is much quieter than the original SpectreCodename for Phantom III design. This is now running in France. (6) Luffing Up. This should be no worse than on the 20/25. (7) Shock Damper Rattles. The SpectreCodename for Phantom III seems to be more sensitive than our other cars for shock damper noise. We are investigating this. | ||
