It was also noticed that the finish of the parts was very rough. In many cases the top of the oil hole had the drilling burrs still in position and it is a common occurrence to find steel drillings blocking up the oil passage. The writer saw samples.

In several cases the bronze bushes were a solid fit, thus preventing any lubrication to the bush. We should recommend that the bijur size be increased, anchorage bracket from Z.T.2 at present to the next larger Z.T.3 size.

Kingsbury accept the finished parts as supplied by Derby as 100% and it is difficult to see any discrepancy when parts are assembled ready for changeover. The lack of finish is only noticed when trouble occurs and parts are dismantled.

As all axles are now being modified, a Depot Sheet should be circulated, asking that all axle control spindles be tested by oil gun at the banjo union. Kingsbury have promised to do this, but they should be covered by a Depot Sheet. In this way we can check up on the faulty eye bolts.

Below is a list of chassis tested and found O.K. :-

B-20-AH.
B-112-AH.
B-128-AH.
B-11-BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}
B-158-CR.{Mr Cra???ster / Mr Chichester}

Chassis B-162-AH, B-140-AH and B-168-AH were found to be faulty.
