Messrs.Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

For the attention of Mr.Robotham.(Experimental Dept.)

Dear Sirs,

We beg to confirm the visit of the writer to your Works on Friday last, and the discussion with your Messrs.Robotham and Smith and other representatives relative to 10" and 11" size clutches as now being supplied to you on a production basis.

We understand from discussion with your Mr. Scott that you are agreed that the various points criticised in no way affect or impair the general performance of our clutch unit, but that you are desirous of the general finish or appearance of the clutch cover unit to be improved.

With this object in view we are preparing two 11.A3. clutches which are being despatched for the attention of your Messrs.Swift and Scott following the suggestions put forward by you during our discussion, and in which the following points are receiving special attention:-

Colour of clutch cover pressing.

Location of Borg & Beck transfer.

All Release Levers to be polished.

Screwed portion of eyebolts projecting beyond adjusting nuts to be of definite height.

Finish and shape of balancing holes in clutch cover.

Outside diameter of cover flange.

Con't.......
