Sft{Mr Swift} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/HP.9.9.36. Phantom III Steering Column. The Works wish to substitute pensteel shims for the single washers of variable thickness now used for adjusting the worm and rocker shafts in the Phantom III steering box. The Adamant Co. use a pack of washers made up of .011 and .003 thicknesses and it would appear that a limited number of thicknesses like this enables any variation to be obtained in one thousandth of an inch. If you agree, we should like you to order washers of these thicknesses for immediate use on the Phantom III steering. Attached is a pack of Adamant washers as examples.
