Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.7/AP. 1026 August 31st.1937 The British Belting & Asbestos Co.Ltd., 59 Southwark St, LONDON SE.1. For the attention of Mr.Dalmane. Dear Sirs, We have tested out a good deal of your Kansas Snubber lacing strip used for our Bonnet rest strips and have experienced severe wear of the aluminium bonnet plates - this appears to be due to the weave of the fabric, since the plate wears in ridges corresponding to the ridges in the weave. We should like to know whether you can supply a sample of fabric having a weave similar to the piece enclosed, but otherwise similar to the Kansas Snubber strip already supplied. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
