COPY. COPY OF MEMORANDUM D {John DeLooze - Company Secretary} /EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} 6/CW19.3.26. Chassis GPK-43. - G. {Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} Mackay & Sons. This car was finally tested recently by one of EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} 's men, and since delivery we have received a letter from G. {Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} Mackay & Sons, reading as follows :- "We shall be pleased to know if your mechanic informed you that on the return journey from Scarborough, which was taken by him and our client, one of the wheels wobbles rather badly. We shall be pleased to hear something further about this, as to what you would advise should be done." EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} reports that under certain conditions there was a slight tendency to steering wobble at low speed. The car, however, was quite up to standard. Our tester, when handling the car could not produce the wobble complained of by the owner. The wobble was only produced by the owner holding firmly to the steering wheel and displaying generally the attitude of a novice in driving. EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} states that the question of low speed wobble on front wheel brake type 20-HP. cars is well-known to us and was made clear to the Administration before this type of car was delivered to customers. This complaint has been put to the Experimental Department by EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} but they are unable to make any recommendations re cure. EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} has asked us to bring this matter to your notice in view of this definite complaint from a customer with a view to ascertaining what action should be taken in this instance.
