W/P. To Sr. from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} 1245 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}8/AP.5.11.37. Thank you for your Sr/Crn.15/GM.3.11.37. With regard to the new Michelin 'Pilot' tyre, could you find out for us whether they make a tyre of the size we could try on the Bentley. We have at the Works 17" wheels having rim widths of 4" and also 5". We presume this latter is about what Michelin now recommend. For Ph.III. we have wheels 18" diameter with rim widths also 4" and 5". If by any chance Michelin have tyres which would suit one of these rims, we should be glad if you would send two tyres over to England so that we can try them out on the Skid Pan for cornering power.
