Present Standard Bentley Clutch.

After two or three laps on the track yesterday, Lappin's clutch behaved exactly as it has done previously, i.e., it refused to stop.

I am not quite clear what was found to be the trouble previously when this happened, but the trouble took place under exactly the same conditions, i.e., when lapping at Brooklands, and is therefore serious and should be investigated immediately.

As far as I can remember, the two bolts holding the cast-iron plate to the flywheel sheared.

[Handwritten note:]
This trouble was corrected before cars put on production. Letters have been filed to this unit. It seems likely that the bolts fail owing to movement of master period.
